Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is a captivating story to the Cambodia casinos that sit just across the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, in which gambling den betting is prohibited. Eight casinos are anchored in a relatively tiny location in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia gambling halls is in a perfect spot, a three to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest gaming locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a thriving business with Thai workers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The amazing capital acquired from the gambling dens ranges from $7.5 million to over 12.5 million dollars, and there are a couple of restrictions constraints for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is presumed to be largely Thai; still, funding sources are vague. The borders are formally open from 9:00 a.m. to 17:00, and although visas are supposedly necessary to pass, there are means around this, as is real of many border crossings.

The 1st Cambodia gambling dens premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only a single gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked boat casino, features one hundred and fifty slot machine games and 60 gaming tables. The Naga casino never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat, 4 tables of blackjack, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The 1st casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly followed. There are 150 slots and five tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machine games and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features 300 slots and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machines and ninety six table games, including eighty seven baccarat (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machines and sixty six of the familiar gaming tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, again in a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machine games and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-inclusive vacation and hotel complex that highlights many amenities accompanying the gambling den, which contains 10,000 square feet of 130 slots and eighty eight gaming tables.
