Cambodia Gambling Dens

There is a fascinating history to the Cambodia gambling halls that reside just over the border from next door Thailand, where gambling hall gaming is against the law. Eight gambling halls are anchored in a relatively tiny area in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia casinos is in a perfect spot, a three to four hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest betting centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a huge business with Thai laborers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The astonishing capital accrued from the gambling halls ranges from seven and a half million dollars to more than twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a number of limitations requirements for gambling den ownership. Ownership is presumed to be largely Thai; however, financial sources are vague. The borders are ceremoniously open from 0900 to 17:00, and even though visas are apparently necessary to pass, there are means around this, as is accurate of most borders.

The 1st Cambodia gambling dens premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving just a single gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary boat gambling den, contains one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and sixty gaming tables. The Naga casino is open all day and night with 42 tables of mini-baccarat, four tables of twenty-one, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The original gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown quickly opened. A total of 150 slot machines and five table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four one armed bandits and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights 300 slot machine games and 70 tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machine games and ninety six gaming tables, including 87 baccarat (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machine games and 66 of the common table games, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, also a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machines and ninety seven table games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a comprehensive resort and hotel compound that features a number of conveniences on top of the gambling hall, which houses ten thousand square feet of 130 slots and 88 gaming tables.
